Dr. Shakira Jameson, D.V.M.

Dr. Shakira (pronounced Sah-keeda) Jameson was born in Spain, and raised here in the valley. A 1995 graduate of Cathedral City High School, she is excited to be back. Dr. Jameson did her undergraduate studies a Colorado State University , where she earned her BS degrees in both Animal Science and Agricultural Business. In 2012 she graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Colorado State University as well. Dr. Jameson after completing a 1 year internship at VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona rotating through internal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine in Mesa, Arizona returned to the valley to practice. In November of 2016, Dr. Jameson opened Paws and Claws Pet Care and has been enjoying being apart of the community, helping and taking care of your pets and their health.

When Dr. Jameson is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, 3 Shih Tzu’s and her Chihuahua. She also enjoys cooking, traveling, and shopping.

Caleb Cruz, R.V.T
Registered Veterinary Technician

Caleb is a Registered Veterinary Technician who has been in the veterinary field since 2011 who is originally from the Coachella Valley. She has worked for an emergency & wellness clinic in New Mexico as well as wellness clinics in the Coachella Valley offering unique services in exotics and small animals. She enjoys diagnostics and providing care for hospitalized patients as well as dentistry. She lives in Palm Desert with her husband who plays drums in multiple local bands and 2 Siberian Huskies named after her favorite childhood films; Falkor and Ariel. She also has a bearded dragon named “Little Dude” and a Cichlid Tiger Oscar fish named “Turbo”. On her free time, she enjoys listening to live music, painting as well as traveling.


Jessica Castillo
Room Technician Supervisor

Jessica was born and raised in the Coachella valley. She has been in the veterinary field for 10 years and is part of our leadership team as our Room Technician Supervisor. She has also recently begun her schooling for certified veterinary practice manager. Her passion is working alongside the doctor to provide compassionate veterinary care and providing clients with helpful knowledge in caring for their pets. Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their two sons, as well as their 2 sweet rescue pups; Izzie and Lucy and 2 crazy French bulldogs; Rollie and butterbean.

Bianca De Rueda
Veterinary Assistant

Bianca has bee interested in the veterinary field since her childhood, growing up with a house full of dogs. After graduating from high school on 2008, she decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician and attended a college in Phoenix, Arizona. She started her career at VCA Valley Animal Medical Center and worked for 7 years where she met Dr. Jameson, Bianca joined our family in 2018 as a veterinary assistant. She is proud of job and loves working alongside her coworkers/family.

Nita Molina

Nita is a Coachella Valley native. After graduating from high school, she went to school to be a Dental Assistant and had been in the field for 6 years. Nita has always had an interest in animals and when an opportunity to join the Paws and Claws Family in 2019 came up, she took it.

Outside of work, Nita has a beautiful daughter and 2 dogs that she spends most of her time with. She also enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and staying active.


Oscar Martinez
Veterinary Technician

Oscar has lived in the Coachella valley for most of his life, he graduated from Coachella Valley High School in 2004. He went to Long Technical College in Phoenix Arizona to study and become a Veterinary Technician. While in school he worked along side Dr. Hirsch in Phoenix for a year and a half. He missed his family, so he decided to move back to the Coachella Valley with his 10-year-old son and his 2 cats (Fiona and Phelix). He has since added 2 more dogs to his family, a male Mastiff Mix named Rufus and a female Pomeranian named Zhu Zhu. He has worked in the veterinary field for the past 12 years. The pets and clients he worked with has enriched ahis professional and personal experiences, and he loves being able to put the sparkle back into the eye of our four-legged family members.


Becca Magnetti

Becca is a native South Floridian who moved to SoCal in 2015. Becca started in the veterinary field in 1997 as a receptionist and soon after discovered her love for the medical aspect of veterinary care. She has 10 years of experience in Emergency and Critical Care, also has significant experience with exotics and avian species but enjoys all facets of veterinary medicine. Becca married her high school sweetheart in 2003 and has 2 amazing kids along with an American Pit Bull Terrier and 6 cats ranging form 2 years to 19 years old (all rescues.) When not working, she enjoys tending to her garden, arts and crafts, snuggling her critters, playing in the sun and BMX racing and riding with her family.


Stacie McKinley, L.V.T.
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Stacie was born and raised in Michigan, she moved to California in 2015 with her husband to enjoy the warmer weather. She is a licensed veterinary technician in the state of Michigan and is currently working towards being registered in California. She has worked in veterinary oncology for 8 years and also has experience in acupuncture, which she is excited to practice and learn more about here at Paws and Claws. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming and anything involving the outdoors. She currently has a dove named Gracie and a dog named Piper, but also fosters pets through the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, which keeps her house very busy.
